Series of workshops on Roma Balkan Music with
NIZO ALIMOV presented by BalkanFest Montreal
We are thrilled to have the opportunity to learn from Nizo Alimov, a Macedonian-Rom multi-instrumentalist who has performed worldwide with such renowned groups as Kočani Orkestar.
An excellent teacher, Nizo will present a series of four (4) Monday night workshops
to be held on February (7, 14, 21, 28), via Zoom.
His program will include:
- a Bulgarian-Roma čoček
- a slow Serbian sevdah melody
- a Macedonian čoček
- a Turkish-Roma song
- a Macedonian-Roma dance tune, gaida
The workshops are open to musicians of all levels.
All types of musical instruments are welcome.
